So very sad to hear of Vinnie’s passing. We grew up on the same street in the 70s, and I later had the pleasure of working with him at James Dewhurst in the 80s.

Vinnie was genuinely one of the kindest, loveliest people you could ever meet, with the very best sense of humour. I have such fond memories of him and feel very lucky to have known him.
When I worked with Vinnie (1983/4 I think) he was absolutely love-sick! He was obsessed with the girl who lived next door to him on Hodder Street. She was called Lorraine.

After several weeks of him whingeing to everyone about his undying love for this girl, I really couldn’t stand it any longer. So I got her number from the phone book (you could in those days!), took a deep breath and rang her. She was so lovely, laughed and said she felt the same about Vinnie. Result! Their wedding followed not long after and the rest is blissful history ❤️

My heart goes out to his lovely wife and all his family at this incredibly sad time. Rest in peace, Vinnie ❤️

The obituary sums Vinny up perfectly. An Italian, but a Lancashire lad too. Or was it the other way around? It was a pleasure to know, and work with him. Always had a smile on his face. It's been a while since I've seen him, but I'll miss him loads. R.I.P. mate.

We are still coming to terms that you've gone far to early!!
I can honestly say your going to be missed everyday. We have had such a laugh over the last 20 plus years, The holidays we shared including having to buy the famous blue caps we had to wear for the swimming pool !!!.
Your BBQ days was famous and the phone calls to say let's go out for a drink. I guess the Arden pub will be at loss now without you moshing.
Most of all Vinny you was my best mate and we never had a crossed word in all the time we knew you we never failed to get told off when out and about and loved watching Lorraine slap you even if it was my fault haha.

Well Vinny what can I say, when I look back on our friendship and the numerous get togethers we all shared. You were the life and soul of all of the events we had the fortune of sharing together. I will always remember the times were I got you in trouble with Lorraine for doing something mischievous and you would end up getting a slap. Didn't take much encouragement mind. How we laughed about the silly things. Myself and Amanda feel honoured to have been able to share in the good times with you and you will forever have a special place in our hearts. The pound shop will miss you and there will be a drop in sales of yogurts and apples at Tesco. Not forgetting the reduced Easter eggs you went and bought after Easter. I think you bought about 50 eggs that year. Our kids have never forgotten. Who will we be able to take the Mickey out of now and who will laugh along with us. You will be greatly missed mate and thankyou for allowing us to be part of your life and the great times we shared.
