Direct cremation
What is direct cremation, and how does it work?
Direct cremation is a simple, respectful option with no service beforehand. We take your loved one into our care, handle all the paperwork, and carry out the cremation. Their ashes are then returned to you. If you wish, our unique configurator lets you add personal touches to gently honour your loved one’s memory.
What is included in the cost, when is payment required and are there any hidden fees?
Our direct cremation price includes everything needed, with no hidden fees. This covers bringing your loved one into our care, all paperwork, a suitable cremation coffin, the cremation, and the return of the ashes. Payment is required before the cremation takes place. Any optional extras, such as flowers, urns, or keepsakes, are clearly explained and entirely your choice, so you always know exactly what to expect.
How long does the process take, and when will we receive the ashes?
In most cases, the cremation is completed within 10 days. We take care of all arrangements and keep you informed throughout. Once complete, the ashes are returned to you by pickup or delivery, whichever you prefer. If you need them by a specific date, we’ll do our best to help.
How do you care for my loved one, and will they be cremated individually?
Your loved one is always treated with dignity and compassion. All cremations are carried out individually, with careful identification and tracking at every stage, ensuring the ashes returned are solely your loved one’s. We understand the trust you place in us and honour it throughout our care.
What do I need to do now, and can arrangements be made without visiting in person?
If a death has just occurred, simply call us—day or night—and we will arrange transfer of your loved one into our care. We’ll take care of the necessary paperwork and explain everything clearly so you know exactly what to expect. Arrangements can also be made in advance to ease the burden on your family. All arrangements can be completed by phone or online, with paperwork emailed to you for easy signing, so there’s no need to visit unless you wish to.
