Memorial Book
Norman, aged 77 years, of Great Harwood and formerly of Wigan, passed away peacefully on 21st June 2025.
Norman was the dearly beloved husband of Margaret, a devoted and much loved dad to Wayne and Anthony, and a cherished father-in-law to Connie. He was a proud and adored grandad to Mel, David, Leona, Declan, Calla, and Zarah, and a doting great-grandad to Beatrice, Lottie, Freddie, and Rainn.
Norman began his working life as a welder at Melling and Bath in Westhoughton, before moving on to a long-standing role with the Royal Mail as a night-turn postman around Wigan. He took great pride in his work, earning the respect of his colleagues and forming many lasting friendships along the way.
A passionate fisherman, Norman never strayed far from a riverbank with his full coarse fishing licence in hand. His favourite spot was the River Avon in Worcestershire, where he found peace and joy on many of his fishing holidays. Fishing was more than a hobby it was a way for Norman to connect with nature, relax, and enjoy life’s quieter moments. In addition to fishing, Norman had a love for snooker, darts, and pool. He was always up for a friendly game and enjoyed the camaraderie and competition that came with it.
Above all, Norman was a devoted family man. He found great joy in bringing his family together and hearing about the lives and adventures of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His warmth, humour, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him.
Norman will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
RIP Norman. My condolences sent to his wife Margaret and family and grandchildren at this sad time
