Peacefully, surrounded by love, on Monday 10th November 2025, Nicola, aged 49 years, of Clayton le Moors, fell asleep at East Lancashire Hospice.
A devoted wife to David, treasured mum to Daniel, and adored daughter of Ken and Gina, Nicola was also a much-loved sister to Julie, Donna (her twin), Paul, Lisa, and John.
Born and bred in Accrington, Nicola was a true social butterfly whose warmth, quick wit, and caring nature made her unforgettable. She spent much of her life in customer facing roles, including time at The Whitakers Arms and over a decade at Oswaldtwistle Mills, where she was surrounded by good friends and laughter.
Nicola was a strong woman who said it as it was honest, straightforward, and full of spirit. A little stubborn at times, perhaps, but that was part of what made her so special. Her amazing personality filled every room, and her laughter could lift anyone’s mood.
She loved her nights out with friends, holidays with her parents in her younger years, and in later life, found her soulmate in David. The two met at The Railway pub in Accrington and clicked instantly, sharing many happy adventures from weekends away in Blackpool and Harrogate to her much loved coach trips.
Nicola enjoyed walking, especially the kind that ended with a good pub (and occasionally a taxi home!). She loved eating out with David, catching up on her favourite reality TV shows from Love Island to I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! but her favourite place of all was home, in her comfy pyjamas, snuggled up on the sofa.
Nicola will be remembered as a strong, loving woman with a heart of gold and a personality that could brighten any day. She leaves behind cherished memories, laughter, and love that will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
Family flowers only, please. Donations are being gratefully received in her memory on behalf of East Lancashire Hospice, a donation box will also be available on the funeral.
