Marylyn Bennison

Peacefully in her sleep on 11th April 2026, Marylyn, aged 78 years, of Clayton-le-Moors. Much loved wife of the late Jack, proud mum of Jacqueline, Donna and the late Alexander, dear mother-in-law of Robert and Mark, a cherished grandma and great-grandma, beloved sister of Renate and Doris, and a treasured auntie, relative and friend to many.

In her younger years, Marylyn was an avid gardener who found great joy in the wildlife and flowers in her garden. She spent many happy hours tending to and taking immense pride in her beautiful English cottage garden, which bloomed in colour throughout the seasons. She adored animals, especially cats and dogs, and throughout her life gave a loving home to many four-legged companions. She also had a fondness for ponies and enjoyed having them around for her children, even enjoying riding them herself occasionally. Marylyn knew exactly what she did and didn’t like, and spent many happy hours pursuing her own hobbies, interests and friendships. She was quietly determined to enjoy life her own way whenever she could.
