Obituary Notice

On 11th June 2026 Kevin, aged 71 years, passed away in East Lancashire Hospice with his family and friends by his side. A sadly missed brother of Nigel, partner of Katherine and a greatly missed friend to many. A life long heavy metal music fan Kevin attended more than a 1000 gigs in his lifetime, some with his brother. As a younger man Kevin was a keen skier and worked as an instructor at Ski Rossendale as well as a Scout Leader in Great Harwood. Kevin enjoyed the art of research using Library archives and registry offices, spending hours going through registers of births, deaths and marriages to research the Penberthy family tree or any other subjects that interested him. he will be very sadly missed by all who knew him.

Just learned about Kevin’s passing. I worked with Kevin at BT and loved his character. Memories include his love of wearing black for work and his black Lada car.
His diet was very “rigid” a Cornish pasty and can of pop for lunch and he said he loved fish fingers for tea.
He was a dear colleague, a unique individual and I loved chatting about his music.
Rest in peace Kevin. You’ll be sadly missed. Xx

Kevin was the first person I spoke to on my first day at Post Office Telephones in 1974. We worked together on and off for the next 30 odd years. He never had a bad word to say about anybody.
Regretfully we lost touch after we left BT. Sorry to hear news.

Anne Moore

A true gentleman. I was his clerical assistant in 1973 when I joined the post office telephones, later to become BT.
So sad as it doesn't seem two minutes since his 21st party.

Annie Brown

I shall miss your annual visits to Cornwall and our shared Penberthy heritage which we researched for many years.
Both of us born and bred in Camborne.
Such a gentleman and never a moan over the last three years but filled your life with wonderful journeys with Katherine.

David Thomas

You are much missed by all your friends here in Cornwall.
