On 29th June 2026, Joan passed away suddenly at the age of 92.
Beloved wife of the late Eddie, much-loved and fun-loving mum of Karen and Paul, cherished mother-in-law of Paul and Deborah, devoted grandma to Simon, Rachael, Amy and Thomas, and a warmly welcomed grandma to their partners, Sarah, Dan and Kaelah. A proud and loving great-grandma to Izzy, Tilly, Henry, Rosie and Alfie.
Joan was a true force of nature and the heart of her family. A devoted Christian who lived her life guided by her Methodist faith, she was a firm believer in kindness, honesty and strong moral values.
An enthusiastic gym member in the early 2000s, Joan took great pride in keeping fit and active, and she was rarely still. Well known and respected throughout the Great Harwood community, she gave her time generously to others, whether baking for church events, creating beautiful wedding dresses for family and friends, or simply offering a helping hand whenever it was needed.
Joan’s warmth, generosity and unwavering love for her family and community touched the lives of so many. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Joan’s wish was for her life to be celebrated, so please wear something bright to reflect this at the funeral service.
