on 28th July 2026 Jimmy passed away peacefully in his sleep aged 96 years. Loving husband of Connie, The best dad to John, Jeremy, Anne and the Late Jim, a devoted grandad, great grandad, uncle and friend to many. Born in New Jersey USA along with twin sister Jean. soon after the family returned to the UK. A farmer through and through Jimmy alweays wanted his own farm to run but enjoyed spending time on a small holding tending to his vegetables and a few chickens and pigs.
When Jimmy and Connie where first married, Jimmy worked for John Marshall a local farmer in Baxenden. Jimmy then secured himself a full time job at Kearns Allen Dye Works in Baxenden, where he worked for over 25 years until its closure in the early 80’s. He then went on to work at a local poultry farm in Baxenden owned by the late Peter and Margaret Ashbuner. Jimmy absolutely loved working with Peter, so much so he continued to work well passed his retirement age and even in his 80’s Jimmy would potter up and help out Paul (Peter and Maragret’s son-in-law).
A huge thank you to the staff and nurses of Danemoor Care Home for thier love and care of Jimmy. He will be sadly missed by all his family.
