Florence Joan Morton

Peacefully at her home, with her beloved husband by her side on 9th May 2025, Florence aged 80 years of Rishton. The devoted and adored wife of Andy, dearly loved sister of Jean, Susan, Madeline, Bill and the late Michael, a dear sister-in-law, auntie, relative and friend.

Former landlady of The Forest Arms, Thwaites Arms, and The Lidgett, Florence was a well-known and much-loved figure in the communities she served. Working side by side with her husband and soulmate, Andy, the two of them kept the pubs running like clockwork. Florence had the bar running to perfection, while Andy put together unforgettable entertainment for their patrons. Later, Florence went on to work at Holland’s Pies, starting in the freezer department and working her way up to a role in customer relations. Her dedication and strong work ethic shone through in everything she did.

Holidays were always a highlight for Florence, especially Mediterranean cruises, which gave her the chance to unwind in the sunshine, soak up the local cultures, and enjoy world-class entertainment in the evenings. Often, those evenings were made even more special by a performance from Andy himself. A true social butterfly, Florence loved being around people. She could chat to anyone about anything and had a fantastic sense of humour. She also had a passion for shopping and was always impeccably dressed, nothing pleased her more than treating herself to a beautiful new outfit. Florence was a devoted animal lover too, and over the years, she gave a loving home to many cats and dogs.

Loved by all who knew her, Florence will be deeply missed and forever remembered with great fondness.
