Memorial Book
Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on 14th May 2025, Edna, aged 88 years, of Clitheroe.
A dearly loved mum to Sonja and Adrienne, cherished grandma to Kristian, Kallie, Aisha, Sara and Suriya, and a proud great-grandma. Edna was also a loyal and much-loved friend to many.
A true lady in every sense, Edna had a magnetic presence, a zest for life and a creative flare that could not be ignored and people were naturally drawn to her. She was full of knowledge, able to hold a thoughtful conversation on just about any topic, and always made those around her feel welcome and valued. Her career in medical science took her across the globe, with roles in the US, Scandinavia, and the UK. Wherever she worked, she earned the respect of her colleagues and formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. Loyal, trustworthy, and kind-hearted, once you were Edna’s friend, you were a friend for life. A passionate historian and lifelong learner, Edna had an endless curiosity about the world and loved nothing more than sharing what she’d learned with others. She was also a devoted animal lover, especially fond of cats. Throughout her life, she gave many a loving home, with Siamese cats holding a special place in her heart. Those lucky enough to be part of Edna’s world, human or feline, were always well cared for.
Family flowers only, please. Donations in memory of Edna are being gratefully received in honour of her love of cats, to benefit RSPCA.

My dear friend – you have been a part of my life for so many years and we have shared countless ups and downs together during that time. You were always there to listen and to give advice, and we shared much laughter and tears. A gracious, elegant and gentle person, you were so generous with your gifts and also your friendship. I will miss you so much but I am glad that you are now at peace with your beloved cats by your side. xxx
