Peacefully at Barnfold Cottage on 28th April 2026, Christine, aged 90 years, formerly of Great Harwood and Rishton. The devoted wife of the late John, a loving mum of Deborah, dear mother-in-law of Billy, cherished nana of David, Christopher and Michael, and a much-loved great-grandma of James, Charlotte, Amy, Eleanor, Georgia and Jake. She was also a dear relative and a good friend to many.
A former warden at Lyndon House, Great Harwood, Christine was a well-known and much-loved figure within the local community. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her role and was greatly respected by all the residents. Later, she moved to Eachill Gardens in Rishton, where she made many wonderful new friends and enjoyed happy times and memorable holidays. Christine was a true people person who loved to talk and formed friendships with ease. She was loving, loyal and kind, and once you were her friend, you were a friend for life. In her younger years, she devoted her time to helping others, volunteering as a Sunday school teacher at Rhyddings Methodist Church and supporting the NSPCC. She adored children and always encouraged them to be the very best they could be. A devoted family lady, Christine’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apple of her eye, and she took great joy in spoiling them with love and treats. During her final years, Christine was cared for at Barnfold Cottage by a truly dedicated and compassionate team. Her family will be eternally grateful for the kindness and support shown by the staff.
Christine was loved by all who knew her and will be fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion.
May she rest in peace.
Family flowers only please. Donations are being gratefully received in Christine’s memory on behalf of Dementia UK.
