Agnes Lund

Of your charity, please pray for the repose of the soul of Agnes, who passed away peacefully, fortified by the Rites of Holy Mother Church, on 29th April 2026, aged 95 years, of Great Harwood.

The devoted wife of the late Louis, Agnes was a loving mother to Kathryn, Stephen, Margaret, David, Martin and Christopher, a dear mother-in-law, cherished grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, a dear sister to Harry and Elizabeth and the late Marie and Eileen, and a much-loved relative and friend to many.

A devout lifelong member of St Hubert’s RC Church, Agnes gave generously of her time in support of church events. She was kind and caring, always willing to go out of her way to help others. Her working life began with Office Work, once married Agnes had various part time working roles which allowed her to raise her family. In later years, she trained as a chiropodist, working from home and visiting many loyal clients. At home, Agnes enjoyed completing her latest cross-stitch projects, as well as reading and doing crosswords. Highly intelligent, she had a vast knowledge of history and was always a valued member of any quiz team. She was also a familiar and friendly face at the Trinity Methodist Church Thursday Luncheon Club, where she made many good friends. Above all, Agnes was devoted to her family. She treasured the time spent with them and was immensely proud of all her grandchildren.
