Surrounded by her loving family, Lynne passed away peacefully on 2nd July 2026, aged 69 years, of Oswaldtwistle.
The dearly loved and devoted wife of Tony, a treasured mum to Mark, Graham, Emma and Sarah, a much-loved mother-in-law to Claire, Kirsty, Stuart and Jason, a proud and cherished grandma and great-grandma, a beloved sister of Ronnie, best friend of Lorna and a dear relative and friend to so many.
Born and raised in Oswaldtwistle, Lynne spent her whole life in the community she loved. She was immensely proud of her roots and built a life centred around family, friendship and creating happy memories with those she loved most. An active lady throughout her life, she loved sport. She enjoyed playing badminton and later discovered a love of bowling, becoming a valued member of Immanuel Bowling Club as well as secretary. A lifelong Blackburn Rovers supporter too and proud season ticket holder, Lynne rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on her beloved team. Whether she was on the bowling green or spending time with friends, she was happiest in the company of others. Lynne also loved to travel and holidays abroad brought her enormous happiness, particularly holidays to Nerja, where she and Tony returned many times over the years. Those precious trips became treasured and unforgettable memories.
Lynne’s working life reflected her warm and capable nature. Beginning in office administration with Joseph Arnold’s before progressing to become secretary to the Sales Director at Walker Steel, Lynne earned the respect of colleagues through her dedication and professionalism. She then became the school secretary at Hippings Primary School for over 25 years. Lynne’s home was a place of warmth, laughter and togetherness, where the kettle was always on, the door was always open and there always seemed to be room for one more. Lynne loved entertaining and was the life and soul of every party and was the most wonderful host. Her much anticipated Boxing Day gatherings, were legendary, bringing family and friends together.
Lynne will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and infectious warmth. She had a wonderful way of bringing people together, making everyone feel loved and leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered and forever held close in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
