Tommy Speirs
Passed away peacefully in hospital surrounded by his loving family aged 68 years on 12th April 2024. The devoted husband of Linda, loving dad of Sarah, Emma and Kirsty, dear farther-in-law of Ryan, Jamie and William, cherished grandad Lennox, Beatrix, Emmett and Ernest, dear brother of Donnie and his wife Maggie, uncle to Rachel and Alice and also a dearly loved relative and friend to many.
Tommy was born in Kilmarnock, Scotland and raised in Seamill, he was always proud of his roots and remained loyal to his home country and football team and encouraged his girls to follow suit. He was the most talented chef, working at Seamill Hydro, The Dunkenhalgh and the Swan & Royal at Clitheroe and at home, Tommy always created the most tasty dishes for his family and he truly was the king of the kitchen. He was a doting family man and enjoyed many family days out with a trip to a nice sandy beach being a firm favourite. Music played a big part of Tommy’s life and he loved to relax listening to his favourite songs and he had the most eclectic taste. In his later years he found a love for dogs and he gave the most loving home to ‘Molly the Collie’ and he loved to get out for a brisk walk enjoying the local countryside and he became an avid supporter of the charity Freedom of Spirit Trust for Border Collies.
Family flowers only please. Donations are gratefully being received in memory of Tommy on behalf of FOSTBC (Freedom of Spirit Trust for Border Collies) , Blood Bikes and Macmillan Cancer Support To make a donation please click the ‘ Make A Donation’ button at the bottom of this page.

I met Tommy when he came to work for me some 11 years ago. He was one of the guys I have ever hired. But far more importantly he became a fantastic friend. Loved meeting him on canal back and putting the world to rights. Tommy was an old school gentleman and my life is a better place for knowing him. RIP my wee haggis waffler.
