Thomas Patton ‘Tom’

Peacefully at Altham Care Home on 17th April 2025, Tom, aged 91 years, of Langho. The devoted husband of the late Margaret, loving dad of Kathleen and Craig, dear father-in-law of Phil and Louise, cherished grandad of Robert, Ella, Alexander and Oliver, and proud great-grandad of Giulio.

Tom dedicated his working life to nursing, devoting himself wholeheartedly to those in his care. He spent many years at Langho Colony before moving on to Calderstones, where he was held in the highest regard by both colleagues and patients alike. It was through his work that he met Margaret, with whom he fell deeply in love. Together they shared a long, happy marriage built on love, laughter, and mutual respect. A keen gardener and DIY enthusiast, Tom took great pride in his home and garden, always keeping everything immaculate. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing snooker, and in later life, he liked nothing more than watching it from the comfort of his armchair. He was also a former member of both Whalley and Roe Lee Bowling Clubs, where he made many lasting friendships through his love of the game. Tom and Margaret shared many happy days out together, but their favourite times were those spent with family—especially Sundays, when everyone would gather at Tom’s for a hearty roast dinner. He was a devoted and immensely proud grandad who loved nothing more than hearing about his grandchildren’s adventures and achievements.

Tom was a kind, gentle man, loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered always.
