Susan Gradwell ‘Sue’
Peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on 8th October 2024, Sue, aged 63, of Huncoat, passed away. She was the devoted and beloved partner of Paul, a treasured and loving mum to Lee, James, and Lauren, and nanny to Ayva. Sue was a dear sister to Wendy, Julie, and Martyn, a loyal friend and a beloved ‘Auntie Sue’ to many.
For Sue, family was at the heart of everything. She was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved, always sharing her warmth and kindness. A true social butterfly, Sue had a talent for making friends wherever she went, whether that be while shopping, out drinking or at brunch, or in a holiday destination around the world. Her infectious personality and ability to connect with anyone meant that once you were friends with Sue, you had a friend for life. She loved life and made the most of each day and travelling was her passion, she was Huncoat’s answer to ‘Judith Chalmers’, and had travelled the globe over the years spending many happy times relaxing in the warm sunshine with her favourite Southern Comfort & Diet Coke and cigarette in hand. Visiting her son in Dubai was a highlight she always looked forward to. Her professional life was dedicated to caring for others. As a support worker for adults with learning difficulties, Sue brought compassion and care to those she looked after, forming bonds that were just as cherished by those in her care.
Sue’s presence will be deeply missed, but the love, joy, and memories she shared with others will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Family flowers only please, donations are being gratefully received in her memory on behalf of Derian House Children’s Hospice. To make a donation, please click the ‘Make A Donation’ button at the bottom of this page.
