Robert Edward Andrews ‘Bob’

Peacefully on 31st December 2024, Bob aged 96 years formerly of Beaminster, Dorset. The devoted husband of the late Maureen, loved dad of Michael, a cherished grandad, brother, brother-in-law, relative and friend.

A former carpenter and Joiner, Bob was a master of his trade following in the footsteps of his father. Bob was the most avid sportsman, always keeping himself in shape playing football and cricket and he was also a county darts player and in his later years he developed a passion for crown green bowling. He was a devout and active member of St John Vianney Church, Blackpool where he was often involved in Church events and activities. He loved to travel and over the years has visited many countries, enjoying the local cultures and sights and each winter he would spend up to three months in Spain enjoying the warmer climate. Bob enjoyed singing and was a member of Blackpool male voice choir where he made many good friends.

We are very sad to hear of the loss of dear Bob, but “ he had a good innings” says Jim remembering many happy cricketing days. We both have so many happy memories of Maureen & Bob. Their love & devotion to Michael & Helen & all their family was beyond measure. We can be comforted to know they are now re-united.

Words are never enough to express the feeling of loss when a loved one passes. My brother Bob was the oldest sibling in our sometimes chaotic family of 9 children, but I have wonderful memories of him. I will miss our many phone calls and get togethers over the years. Laced with laughter and re-told memories.    Rest in Peace Bob.    Your loving sister,   Rita

So sad to hear of Uncle Bob’s passing. I have fond childhood memories when he and Uncle Ron used to come and stay with us. He and Uncle Ron would do magic tricks and were so much fun. Uncle Bob loved his sports and Derby county. He always seemed happy which is a gift. My condolences to Michael, Helen, Auntie Rita and Auntie Pat.
