Dear Family,   Although I am far way,  know that my thoughts and prayers are with each of you as we mourn the loss of our beloved brother and son.   Growing up Rick and I had to share a bedroom and I would often play a joke on him by setting the alarm clock  early on a sunday morning and tell him it was time to get up or he’d be late for school.  As always, Rick would find a way to get me back somehow.  I’ll also never forget the time I came to visit him in his new house when the kids were young and how excited he was to show off his new home and his little family.  He was bursting with pride to give me the tour!  Years later he would show me some of his amazing ironworks and show off some amazing gates he had made at a Scottish stately home.  He was clearly very talented and truly didn’t know how good he was at his craft.  These are the memories I will always hold dear.  Love and condolences to all who grieve the loss of our brother.

To my little brother Richard, rest easy now.. I love you. Hope is the Thing with Feathers Emily Dickinson  “Hope” is the thing with feathers –  That perches in the soul –  And sings the tune without the words –  And never stops – at all –   And sweetest – in the Gale – is heard –  And sore must be the storm –  That could abash the little Bird  That kept so many warm –   I’ve heard it in the chillest land –  And on the strangest Sea –  Yet – never – in Extremity,  It asked a crumb – of me.
