Martin Christopher Walmsley
Peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on 17th November 2024, Martin aged 67 years of Clayton-le-Moors, formerly of Blackburn. The devoted and much loved partner of Lynn, loving dad of Kathryn, Elizabeth, James, Claire and Vicky, a dear father-in-law, cherished grandad and brother, Martin was also a respected relative and friend to many.
Former Night Manager at Stirk House Hotel, Martin loved his work and devoted himself to ensuring all the guests got a peaceful nights stay at the hotel, he also previously worked at The Moat House Hotel and over his working life Martin came across many famous people. Sport mad, Martin loved all sports especially football and he was the most avid Blackburn Rovers supporter and in younger years loved to attend the matches with his children. He enjoyed nights out and each Sunday he could be found chatting away to his mates and enjoying a drink and a game of bingo at St Alban’s Social Club. He loved the sunshine and if the sun was shining, Martin would be out soaking up the rays, he enjoyed many trips around the UK visiting family and he loved his holiday to Majorca where he could sit happily in the warm sunshine whilst watching the world go by. Martin adored his beloved companion dogs Beth and especially Herby who was always right by his side.
