Margarita Murray ‘Rita’
Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at East Lancashire Hospice on 20th August 2024, Rita aged 82 years of Rishton. The devoted wife of the late Michael, loving and loved mum of Duncan and the late David, dearly loved mother-in-law of Deborah, dear sister of Winifred and Christopher and a loved auntie, relative and friend.
Former doctors receptionist, Rita was a well known and loved face in the local community working with Dr Bolton on Cliff Street before making the move to the former Cabin surgery. She loved her work and the endless people she came in to contact with along the way. In her younger years Rita loved to dance and enjoyed many happy nights out with her beloved husband Michael. Rita was the most loving family lady and shared a close and special bond with her sister Winifred. She loved holidays and many happy times were enjoyed with the whole family gathered in Wales to enjoy some well earned rest and relaxation. She was an avid reader and loved to settle in her chair and loose her self in her latest book and when at home the radio would always be switched on and tuned on to radio Lancashire.
Family flowers only please. Donations are requested in Rita’s memory on behalf of East Lancashire Hospice. To make a donation please click the ‘Make A Donation’ button at the bottom of this page or send to the Funeral Directors.
