Margaret Martindale

On Saturday 27th July 2024 Margaret aged 88 years of Rishton.  Dearly loved Wife of the late Eric, devoted Mum of Joanne and Tracey, dear Mother in law of Mark and Glenn, loving Grandma of Lucy, Matthew, Louis, Eve and Rory and a dear step Grandma and Great Grandma.

Born in Blackburn, Margaret began her working life at ROF in Blackburn, which is where she met her dear late Husband Eric, they also by chance appeared in the same play together.  In 1959 Margaret and Eric started their married life together in Blackburn later moving to Rishton.

Margaret left ROF to become a housewife and Mother until in 1980 she returned to work on a part time basis on the ‘Housewife Shift’ at Brooke Bond OXO, where she stayed until taking early retirement.  Margaret later worked in her Sister in law Peggy’s wedding and occasion wear shop and helped out in the background during their fashion shows.

Margaret and Eric loved their holidays, visiting London and Spain and enjoyed day trips to Skipton and Lytham.

In her spare time Margaret loved reading, crosswords, jigsaws and especially knittting, creating many items of clothes for her children and grandchildren.

She was loved and adored by all who knew her and she will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.
