Memorial Book

On 8th November 2024, suddenly but peacefully in hospital, surrounded by his loving family, Malcolm, aged 76 years of Altham West. The dearly loved and loving husband of Pauline, the most wonderful loving pops of Paul & Allison and Roger & Nicola, cherish grandpop of Oliver, dear brother  of Barbara and brother in law Eric, also a much loved family member and dear friend.

Malcolm dedicated his career to electrical engineering, beginning at The Electric Board in Blackburn. His work took him across the globe, with many years spent in the Middle East, followed by a final chapter in Algeria before his retirement. Known for his diligence and precision, Malcolm was highly respected for his intellect and skill. In his younger years, he enjoyed golf and delighted in recounting the time he scored a “hole in one,” earning him a mention in the local newspaper. A man of solutions and vision, Malcolm was invaluable when creating theatrical props for shows in Blackburn and Accrington. With a keen knack for DIY, he was always in high demand, and his innovative skills were unmatched. He had a lifelong fascination with the world, with particular interest in space, astronomy, and cars. Self-taught and razor-sharp, he had an impressive knowledge on nearly any topic, answering quiz show questions on television with ease, often feeling frustrated when contestants missed what was obvious to him.Malcolm’s wit and one-liners were legendary, and his humour brought joy to all around him. Known for his sweet tooth, he adored desserts, especially enjoying the chance to sample them at the menu tasting prior of Roger and Nicola’s wedding. Above all, Malcolm was a devoted family man, ever positive and bringing joy to every situation. A true gentleman, he loved his family deeply, and in return was deeply loved by them. Malcolm’s presence will be dearly missed, but his memory and legacy live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
