Larry carried out his national service in the RAF and stayed an extra year gaining promotion in the ranks. After returning from national service Larry returned to the Co-Op for a brief time before joining Hollands pies where apart from driving for the company he became a shop steward, and was later promoted to sales manager. Larry retired from Hollands pies after over 25 years service and during his retirement he carried out delivery work with Interlink and Baxenden pharmacy.

So sorry to hear the sad news. I worked with Larry at Hollands about 35 years ago and I have very fond memories of him helping me as I started out in my career. Funny, kind, mischievous and a thoroughly nice man.
