Kevin Norman Ellis

On 7th June 2024, peacefully, dearly loved Dad of Kim and Warren, dear Father in Law of Duncan, loving Grandad of Finley and Freya, dear Brother of Ann and friend to many.

Kevin was born in Wythenshawe, and began his working life as a structural engineer in Surrey, later moving to Littleborough, Edenfield and Rossendale where he continued working as a structural engineer for quite a few years.  Retiring early in his forties, Kevin carried out structural planning for individual clients, building this up purely by word of mouth.

Kevin loved to attend Tea Dancing visiting the Paradise club and Accrington Hall amongst many other venues.  Kevin also loved his holidays and visited Tenerife sometimes for a couple of months at a time.  kevin liked to travel on buses visiting different areas around Lancashire always making it a day out.

Kevin was an active man who loved to keep fit and was a keen swimmer up until his later life.

Most of all Kevin enjoyed his life to the full and was a devoted family man and loyal friend to many. He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered .

Kevin was a much loved character at our dances at the Pop Club, Accrington and Longfield Suite, Prestwich. Kevin was always smiling, especially on the dance floor and gave great banter which I looked forward to every week. He also acted as a Dance Host on a number of dance weekends, his excellent dance experience and fun, friendly nature made him a popular dancer at all our events. We have missed Kevin at our more recent dances and are sad to hear of his passing. Many of our dancers will be upset at this news. Rest in Peace Kevin and keep dancing on that heavenly dance floor. Sending our sincere condolences to his family and all his dancing friends.
