Memorial Book
On 25th March 2024, peacefully in hospital with his loving daughter Carol at his side, Keith aged 92 years of Longton and formerly of Blackburn. The loving husband of Olga, proud Dad of Susan, Carol and the late Emma, dear father-in-law of Rick and Neil, cherished Grandad of Mark, Charlotte and Sarah, Great-Grandad of Autumn and Paisley and also a respected relative and friend.
Keith a former butcher and his late father proudly ran ‘Andrews Grocers’, Clayton-le-Moors for 25 years where he was a well known face in the local community. He provided the best customer service, greeting each customer with a smile and enjoyed sourcing top quality produce. Following the closure of the store due to compulsory purchase to make way for the M65, Keith moved to a new shop in Wilpshire where once again he was the perfect shop keeper. A true grafter who worked 7 days a week, Keith would rise at 4 am each morning and head to the markets to collect fresh produce for his customers. Keith could chat to anyone about anything and he always made time for people, he loved a laugh and he told the greatest stories.
Each year Keith would look forward to some well earned rest and relaxation during the Blackburn holidays enjoying his annual stays in St Annes, Torquay and later on Spain & Mallorca.
After retiring in 1989 Keith enjoyed Golf mainly for the socialising, he learned to play the keyboard and took up painting. He enjoyed spending time with his family and lived a long and happy life living at home until the last few weeks when he moved to Woodlands care home where he was well looked after. Keith will be sadly missed.
