Keith's funeral service will take place at Accrington Crematorium, Burnley Rd Accrington BB5 6HA

Keith Halsall

On Saturday 27th July 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family, Keith aged 72 years of Clayton Le Moors.  The beloved Husband of Pamela, dearly loved Father of Nicola, Annika and Jessica, dear Father in law of Stuart, loving Grandad of Curtis, Alanna, Jamie, Charlotte and Noah, and dear Brother of Eric and Carol.

Born in Blackburn, Keith attended Longshaw infant and junior schools before moving to Queen Elizabeth Grammer school.  Keith began his working life at Bank Hall colliery in Burnley on a coal board apprenticeship.  Keith then worked for a number of years as a ‘Tackler’ at Roe Lee mill Blackburn and later becoming a pipe fitter.  Keith returned to textiles as a foreman at Scapa in Blackburn before finally joining the Department of Work and Pensions as a benefits processor at the pension service.

Keith was a steward at Blackburn Rovers for many years, later becoming chief steward, he was also a long time member of Longshaw working mens club and held the roles of committee member and chairman at the club where he was also a part time D.J.  Keith also like to attend the Thursday quiz nights at the club and in later life the monthly quizzes at Spring Brook house.

Keith loved fell walking with Pamela and his family and visited many memorable places including The Three Peaks and Malham Cove.  Keith and Pamela also loved their holidays together visiting many places including the South of France, the Isle of Wight and Disneyland in Orlando and Paris.

Keith enjoyed watching football and loved his music, he would also happily spend time in the kitchen cooking for all the family.

Keith’s friends and work colleagues always referred to him as a gentleman and a legend. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

If you are attending Keith’s funeral service could you possibly please wear an item of walking gear or even shorts to reflect Keith’s personality and love of fell walking.

Following the service, everyone is invited for refreshments and to share fond memories of Keith at Spring Brook House Canal Street Clayton Le Moors BB5 5JA.
