Kathryn Wild ‘Kath’ ‘Kate’

Suddenly at her home on 30th December 2024, Kath aged 74 years of Clitheroe. The much loved and loving mum of Nicola and Stephen, dear mother-in-law of Lindsay and the late Chris, cherished and adored nana of Faye, Charlotte, Katie, Thomas, Lucy and Oliver, dear sister of Janice, Jeffrey and John. Kath also leaves her former husband and good friend Dave and many loved relatives and friends.

Working life for Kath began when she enrolled as a cadet nurse at Calderstones, a place that she grew to love, devoting her whole life to those in her care, she was a well respected member of the nursing team and loved by her fellow colleagues and residents. Kath also spent a short time working at Brockhall Hospital.
Kath adored the sunshine and was a true sun worshipper, she always looked forward to getting away to enjoy some rest and relaxation whilst topping up her year round suntan. She enjoyed socialising and was the most impressive darts player, playing at county level and she could often be found enjoying a cigarette and lager and black. Although she had many friends, Kath was just as content in her own company and was the most doting family lady. Following her retirement, Kath kept in touch with her fellow nurses and they enjoyed many trips away on city breaks and together they were fondly known as the ‘Golden Girls’.

Known Kath for many years. We was colleagues before becoming friends. Kath’s whit and love of finding the funny side of things was one of her assets. Although we have not seen each other for some time it was of great sadness to hear of her passing. Rest easy Kath. Watch over us with your beer in one hand and cigarette in the other. 💞
