John Walter Taylor “Walt”

On 10th May 2024, suddenly but peacefully after a short illness. Walt passed away.  The dearly beloved Husband of Barbara, a dear Father, dear Brother of David and the late Audrey, Jean and Bill and a loving Uncle and friend to many.

Walt worked in farming from a young age and later worked in the building trade and is respectfully remembered as a “Jack of all trades, master of none”.  Up until his retirement Walt also created birthday and anniversary cards.

Following his retirement Walt loved to spend time in his garden growing vegetables, also growing tomatoes in his greenhouse.  Walt loved being outside and owned two Shetland ponies, ‘Flora’ and ‘Oliver’ for quite a few years until their upkeep became too much.  Walt also kept chickens and sold their eggs.

Walt loved his sheep dogs and was always interested in sheepdog trials either watching them on television or attending them with Barbara whenever they could in the Lancashire and Yorkshire areas.

Walt and Barbara loved to watch “Songs of Praise” together and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
