George Mills

Peacefully at his home with his wife by his side, George aged 88 years of Accrington. The devoted and much loved husband of Jean, loving dad of Craig and the late Stephen, dear father-in-law of Wendy, cherished grandad of Joanne and great-grandad of Eléna and Hallie and also a dearly loved relative and friend.

Formerly the well-known proprietor of Mill’s Confectioners in Accrington, George was a master baker and confectioner whose delicious pies and cakes were enjoyed by many. George had a deep love for the outdoors and nature; he was an avid mountaineer and rock climber, spending countless happy hours exploring the hills, fells, and mountains of Great Britain. He cherished holidays with his beloved wife, Jean, and their family, often visiting the family caravan in Cartmel, where they enjoyed time on the water skiing, as well as embarking on trips abroad, creating many wonderful memories together. A man who valued doing things his own way, George was equally content in his own company amidst the wilderness as he was enjoying a pint of his favourite dark ale with friends at The Pickups Arms.

George was deeply loved and cherished by all who knew him and will be fondly remembered.
