Memorial Book
On 2nd April 2025, in the morning Chris, aged 70 passed away peacefully in East Lancashire Hospice with Alistair and friends by his side. He was visited and supported by friends from Hurst Green and his sisters during his time at hospital and the hospice. Chris was a devoted husband to Sally until she passed away in 2011. He also was a lovely and amazing father and grandfather “papa” to Alistair, Nicola, Elizabeth, Joseph, and Charlie. As well as a loved brother to Kate, Gillian and Nicholas.
Chris loved travelling and always had a passion for culture and art. His travels included going on cycling trips locally but also further afield all the way to Paris. He was a keen walker and frequently liked to go along the banks of the River Hodder and through Hurst Green. He was a fair hand with the guitar and would sing if pushed. Always appreciating the bands like Cream, Santana, John Martyn, and Rolling Stones. He loved supporting the local area and community, serving as a Parish Councilor to ensure the village worked well and that people had a voice. Chris was a strong believer in equality and freedom of speech and doing the right thing. He had a jovial and humble nature always loving a good pun, well-liked by most and had true traditional gentleman values. He will be sorely missed by all blessed to have known him.
We prefer not to receive flowers but support the East Lancashire Hospice that gave Chris such amazing care and respect in his remaining days. It would mean a lot to the family for the staff to be able to keep providing such an amazing support that is provided purely as a charity. Thinking back, I recall taking Christopher to school, along with his twin sister Kathryn and elder brother Nicholas. After which, being the eldest sibling I had to catch a bus to the big school where, being the eldest sibling, I attended.
That of course was many years ago, but life is short, and for you, Christopher, it has ended much too soon. However, you will suffer no more, and I am thankful that Kathryn and myself were able to see you, before you were taken from us.
Rest in peace, Christopher.
Love, Gillian.
We had a lot of fun in the early days, Chris and Sally were in Bernard st Walsall.
Fondly remembered

So sorry to hear about Chris such a warm and lovely man. .and was lost without Sally by his side ..We knew them when they lived in Accrington. And when they moved to Hurst Green we saw them occasionally. In Clitheroe. R.I.P. CHRIS YOU’RE WITH SALLY NOW
We had such good times on Hollins Lane. Chris, Sally and Alistair were great friends and we had a fantastic group of neighbours who would meet in the Park pub and arrange to meet up at one another’s houses for drinks or a dinner party.
Chis was my special friend and we had wild wonderful fun times for many years.
Those unforgettable years enriched the lives of both Denise and me and the rest of the village community of Hollins lane.
Denise and I are so sad to hear about Chris’s passing. Chris and Sally enter our thoughts so often, and when we think of the times we spent together there is always a fond smile.
Remembering the happy times spent many years ago when we were neighbours.
Gareth, Chris, Rachel and David.
I have so many happy memories of our time spent with Sally and Chris.
I am so grateful to Chris for his friendship and all the help and support he has given to me during my years living in St Anne’s.
Remembered with great affection.
