Peacefully at home on Thursday 26th June 2025, aged 76 years of Nelson,
Barbara, the beloved wife of the late Jamie, passed away peacefully at home. A devoted mum to Andrew and Paul, much loved mother-in-law to Julie and the late Dionne, and a proud and caring granma to Jak, Chantelle, Marcus, and Tyler. She was also a cherished great-granma to George and Violet, and a loving sister to Patricia, Alan, and Roy, and is fondly remembered by the late Peter and Maureen.
As a teenager, Barbara worked at the Imperial Ballroom of the Stars in Nelson, an iconic venue where she mingled with some of the biggest names in music, including The Beatles, Tom Jones, Stevie Wonder, and many others. She later worked at Victory V Sweets, where she met her soulmate, Jamie. Together they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage.
Family was always at the heart of Barbara’s life. She treasured every moment spent with Andrew and Paul, especially their holidays in Morecambe and Rhyl, rain or shine, memories were always made. A keen reader, she was never without a gripping thriller or heartfelt love story.
Barbara’s immaculate appearance, warmth, laughter, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
