Memorial Book
Peacefully at her home on 16th July 2024, Barbara aged 80 years of Clayton-le-Moors. The devoted wife of Paddy, loved and loving mum of John, Nicola and the late Maria, cherished grandma of Joanne, Anthony, Arron, Ellie and Cameron a great-grandma and a respected relative and friend to many. Former machinist at Cupid’s, Harwood Street, Blackburn, Barbara was the most talented dressmaker creating the most stunning outfits. She made wedding dresses for all the family and even made her own and when her girls were young they would always be dressed in perfect matching outfits. Barbara loved to dance and her moves caught the eye of many including her beloved husband and best friend Paddy and she was at her happiest on the dance floor bopping away to her favourite rock and roll tracks. She loved TV and always looked forward to a good crime drama including Patriot, Sherlock and A Touch of Frost. Barbara and Paddy loved to travel, they would escape each weekend for a break visiting various places including Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Morecambe and they also enjoyed many wonderful holidays to Spain and Germany and wherever Barbara went she would always seek out a bargain and loved nothing more than a good rummage in the charity shops and flea markets. She was the most proud grandma to her grandchildren and loved nothing more than the chance to spoil them. Barbara had a heart of gold and was always on hand to help out whenever needed. She was loved and adored by all who knew her and she will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.
