Alban Holden

Suddenly in hospital on 16th April 2024, Alban aged 89 years of Billington. The devoted and much loved husband of Margaret, loving father of Peter, Gail and Richard, dear father-in-law of Christine and Alison, cherished grandfather of Melissa, Claire, Katie, Jack and Emma, great-grandfather of Jasmine, Tia and Mason, dear brother of Kathleen and Irene and also a dear relative and friend to many.

Alban spent his working life as a sheet metal worker and retired from his position at Machine Fabrications, Clayton-le-Moors. He was a lover of the outdoors and a true ‘mans man’. He loved to shoot and was a member of Morecambe Bay Wildfowlers Association, passing on all his vast knowledge of the sport to his sons. He adored dogs and always kept a four legged companion gun dog which he trained himself to his exacting standards which he was well known for in the shooting world. He also enjoyed fishing and in younger years, Alban enjoyed many wonderful holidays to Scotland with his wife and family. He was a doting grandad who took great pleasure from visits from his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
