On 26th September Joan passed away peacefully with daughter, Angela by her side, aged 89 years. Devoted wife of the Late Harold, a much loved mum, beloved nana and great grandma and a friend to many.
Joan was born in Great Harwood and move to Huncoat where she lived with her parents and 6 brothers and sisters. When she turned sweet 16 Joan left home and this is when she met the love of her life, Harold Slinger. Joan started her working life in the local Mills before moving on to work for Phillips Electricals. After a 7 year courtship with Harold the pair married in 1960 and then where blessed with there 3 children Adele in 1963, Angela in 1967 and finally David in 1970.
Joan will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
