Trevor James Greenwood

Trevor passed away peacefully at his home in Clayton-le-Moors, following a short illness, aged 68 years, on 19th December 2023. The dearly loved and loving husband of Elaine, much loved dad of Simeon, Lee and Ben, dear father in law of Lisa and Sammy and loving grandad of Luke, Gracie and Alice.

Following his school years, Trevor had several jobs – Thwaites Brewery, Cupal Pharmaceuticals, Burton’s Tailors, and he also did wedding photography on a Saturday for Garth Dawson and the local paper. Trevor then took a position at Accrington College as a technician working in various departments – biology, physics, engineering and electrical. He liked to guide the pupils and was respected by colleagues and staff alike. His passion for guiding pupils was evident, and he earned the respect of colleagues and staff alike. Later, Trevor worked as a Domestic at Hollins School. An action man at heart, Trevor fully immersed himself in family life, creating adventurous camping holidays filled with fishing and outdoor pursuits. Fond memories include the countless times farmers had to lend a helping hand to free their car from muddy fields. Trevor’s love for photography shone through, particularly when capturing the beauty of birds and deer. His appreciation for nature extended to long walks around Brockholes, seaside strolls, and boat trips around the Farne Islands – always with his camera poised for the perfect shot. He loved long walks with their collie dog Daisy. A man of diverse interests, Trevor enjoyed reading and immersed himself in the re-runs of Midsomer Murders, which he would watch with joy again and again. Above all, Trevor was a devoted family man, finding immense happiness in the company of his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. His dignified, caring nature and gentle nature left a mark on all who knew him. In our hearts, Trevor will forever be remembered as a loving husband, a dedicated father and an adoring grandfather. May he rest in peace.
