Peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on 13th January 2026, Tommy aged 66 years, of Chatburn and formerly of Blackburn. A devoted and much-loved husband of Jacqueline, a loving and proud dad to Shelley, Natasha, Melissa and Amber, a dear father-in-law to Emmett, Ash, Stewart and Karl, a cherished grandad and great-grandad, a dear brother, and a respected relative and good friend to many.
A true grafter who never missed a day’s work, Tommy spent his working life employed by various companies, including working many years at Chris Monk’s as a machine operator. Wherever he worked, his feet were firmly on the ground, earning the respect of his colleagues, many of whom became lifelong friends. He always looked forward to his holidays and loved nothing more than jetting off to enjoy some well-earned rest and relaxation. He adored the sunshine and could happily spend the entire day topping up his perfectly even tan. Tommy also enjoyed a flutter on the horses and the occasional trip to the casino. On his last visit to a London casino, he proudly returned home £3,000 up and glowing with pride. Above all else, Tommy was a devoted family man. He adored his girls, warmly welcoming their partners into the family fold, treating them as his own and he took great joy in hearing about the lives and adventures of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A true pie connoisseur, his favourite pies, Tommy loved nothing more than getting into the kitchen to create his famous meat and potato or cheese and onion pies, enjoyed by all the family. Born and raised in Blackburn, he was always proud of his roots, but he also loved his home in the Ribble Valley, where he spent the past 20 years. He shared a deeply special and loving relationship with his beloved wife Jacqueline and was happiest relaxing at home, enjoying a good roll-up cigarette.
Tommy was loved and respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered with love and affection. Rest in peace, Tommy.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Ribble Valley District Nursing Team for the compassion, love and care they gave to Tommy. They will be eternally grateful.
Family flowers only please, donations are being gratefully received in Tommy’s memory on behalf of East Lancashire Hospice.
