Memorial Book
On 21st December 2025, Tom passed away peacefully at his home, aged 84 years. A devoted and much-loved husband of Enid, a loving and loved dad to Ann, a cherished grandad to John and Charlotte, and a proud great-grandad to Noah, Penelope and Ivy, Tom was also a respected and valued friend to many.
Tom spent his working life in insurance sales and service, where he became a well-known and trusted face to all his clients. He was truly dedicated to his work, often going above and beyond, and took great pride in what he did. A people person by nature, Tom loved spending time in the company of others and would happily chat about anything to anyone, always showing a genuine interest in other people’s stories. Highly organised with a meticulous eye for detail, everything had its place, and Tom had his own well established way of doing things. He greatly enjoyed acting and singing and was a former member of Oswaldtwistle Amateur Dramatic Society, as well as a member of All Saints’ Choir and the Hyndburn Singers. A devoted family man, Tom always looked forward to time spent with his family and was immensely proud of their achievements in life. Tom enjoyed holidays, spending many happy times at his favourite UK destinations, including North Devon and Keswick, as well as enjoying many wonderful cruises. He loved to keep busy and generously gave much of his time supporting various charity projects. He was an active member of the Freemasons, Albert Edward Lodge, and was also a keen knitter, often found in his chair making dishcloths.
No flowers please, by request. Donations in Tom’s memory are being gratefully received in support of North West Air Ambulance and All Saints’ Church.

We have many fond memories of Tom from when we were involved in the All Saints amateur productions. Most of which involved us laughing so much. Whenever we were with him, we knew we were in the company of a gentleman. We will miss Tom and his infectious laughter. See you again.

When I think of him, an involuntary smile comes across my face.
What better epitaph can a man have.. My life was enriched by having the honour to call him my friend.

Remembering Tom with the fondest of memories from working with him and Enid at Refuge Assurance, Blackburn. Always laughing and joking – what a character he was. Enid was so lovely and kind too and often gave me a lift from work to my 2nd job on her way home to Belthorn.
Also remembering seeing them both in the Pack Horse enjoying a meal and drinks. Ironically we’ve exchanged Christmas cards for over 25 years and this year is the only time I didn’t send the lovely Pearsons a card as I forgot to take down their new address last year for which I’m truly sorry Enid.
Rest in Peace Tom

We lived across the road from Tom and Enid for many years. Tom was a larger than life character, always laughing . He was a kind and compassionate, gentleman with an amazing sense of humour. Tom and Enid were good friends with our next door neighbours , John and Sheila. When they got together you could hear them laughing before you would see them. Tom was a very bright light that will be sadly missed by many Thoughts are with Enid, Ann and family
Worked with Tom for a number of years at the Refuge . A true gentleman and great character to work with.

Sorry to see you go Tom. You will be sorely missed in our assemblies and Lodge meetings. We’ve sung a duet or two ( after a bit of throat lubrication! ) and thoroughly enjoyed your company whilst working to help our charities and others in need.
As a member of Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School in Old Blackburnian Lodge 7933 and recently in the Lodge of Perseverance 345 in Darwen your ultimate positivity and infectious laugh raised everybody up.
As one of nature’s gentlemen you are highly respected and die regretted.
With finest of memories, you will not be forgotten.
Love to Edith

Tom was unique, someone who could talk to anyone and make them at ease. He had a zest for life and was a real gentleman. I was so fortunate to be able to be part of the ‘Allo Allo cast with Tom and the team I’ll treasure the memories and remember the laughter. God bless xx
What a great character – one of a kind! Tom had time for everyone and we are humbled to have known him. We will certainly remember all the laughs we had together during rehearsals for our various Six Pack productions!. He certainly lit up many people’s lives and will be very sorely missed. RIP Tom..
Our thoughts and prayers are with Enid, Ann, Charlotte and John and their families. Thinking of you all. x
We have fond memories of Tom when we were members of Church of the Saviour. His wife Enid took over from me there as church treasures. Our prayers for her and Ann.
Tom was a dear friend to all at St James Church Altham. He always supported our fund raising events with a cheery smile and a hearty laugh. Cracked many a joke with us. He was always a welcome visitor when he attended Altham Church with All Saints Choir.
Tom, such a gent. I’ll miss rushing to pick you up to take you to Cana.
