Thomas Riding “Tom”

Doting grandad

Peacefully in hospital on 26th April 2018, Tom aged 87 years of formerly of Rishton. The devoted husband of the late Dorothy, loving father of Malcolm and Nigel, dear father-in-law of Ann and Sue, cherished grandfather of Adam, Luke, Hannah and Leah, great grandfather of Sam, dear brother of Betty and brother-in-law of Ronnie.

Tom’s first job was working for Whalley Council. He then worked for the Gas Board in Blackburn and later as a Personnel Officer at Padiham Power Station before taking early retirement at the age of 55 years. He was a former member of Rishton Methodist Church and was always involved with Sunday School and Youth Club. Tom loved his country sports, in particular fishing and shooting and also enjoyed holidays with his wife to Spain and Croatia and even visited South Africa to see family. Tom was a very proud grandad who doted on his grandchildren.
