On 12th August 2018 peacefully following a long illness, Eddie aged 84 years of Great Harwood.

The dearly beloved husband of Joan, much loved dad of Karen and Paul, dear father in law of Paul and Deborah, loving grandad of Simon, Rachael, Amy & Thomas, Great Grandad of Isabelle and Matilda, loved brother of Barbara and the late Jack and a loving uncle to many.  A service to celebrate the life of Eddie will take place followed by cremation at Accrington crematorium on Tuesday 21st August at 12.20pm. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Eddie began his working life on the family small holding, loving his work outdoors, taking time out for his National Service with the Army based in Preston and Trieste, Italy. Returning home to the farm, Eddie also had a milk round in Blackburn for 20 years. He could turn his hand to anything and loved to be on the go, always looking for the next thing – car cleaning, gardening, selling ice cream, office cleaning and he also became a self employed fencing contractor. He was still working, putting up fences at the age of 79. He was dynamic and had the energy of ten men. Eddie had been an avid supporter of Preston North End and also enjoyed watching snooker on TV. He religiously watched the news each day and liked to keep abreast of what was happening in the world. He was a laid back, gentle man and is much loved by all his family.
