Stuart Arnold MacFarlane (Mac)

Peacefully on 28th December 2020 at home surrounded by the love of his family, Stuart aged 74 years.
Devoted husband to Rita, loving dad to Julie, Michelle and Katrina, dear father-in-law, cherished grandad and great grandad, dearly loved brother, brother in law and friend to many.
Stuart was mostly known for being the former landlord of The Duckworth Hall Inn, Oswaldtwistle where he and his wife Rita ran the pub for 14 years.
Stuart enjoyed family fun holidays with life long friends Bob and Anna and particularly loved Greece.
During Stuarts time in ‘The Duck’ he met his best friend Ephrem and together they had many great times in Portugal  where Stuart learned to fly microlight aircraft.
Stuart was a groundsman at Church and Oswaldtwistle Cricket Club where he was dedicated to helping the club both as a member and volunteer.
Most of all Stuart was a loving family man who was always the life and soul of the party especially when partaking in a ‘wee dram’ or two!  He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

MESSAGES for the family of Stuart Arnold MacFarlane (Mac)

Nicola McCumskay ( nee Hindle)

So sorry to hear of the passing of Stuart, my Mum Christine and I were neighbours to Stuart and family at Blackburn Rd. We will remember him as a good neighbour with a wonderful sense of humour. I always remember him smiling. Thinking of you all xx

Ephrem Clarke

In my life I had one true genuine friend, by best pal Stuart. We shared so many good times together, and was always there during difficult days. I treasure his memory, was so lucky to have him as a friend, and I will never forget the truth be and only Stuart.

Debra Taylor

Beautiful words at the funeral. It was so lovely to hear about his life. I mostly remember his kindness and great humour. Condolences and lots of love to Rita, Julie, Michelle, Katrina and family.
