Sidney Boyer ‘Sid’

Peacefully in hospital on 6th January 2023, Sid aged 82 years of Great Harwood. The devoted and much loved husband of Yvonne, loving dad of Mark and Stephen, dear father-in-law of Gillian, cherished grandad of Cameron, Samuel and Alexandra and a respected relative and friend.

Following his school years Sid began his working life as a reed maker and wire polisher in the textile industry working in mills across the East Lancashire, he also spent his time from the age of 19 working at Riding’s Service station , Great Harwood as a pump attendant. He loved his holidays especially to America and Canada and over the years Sid visited several areas of both countries. He loved the magic and happiness of Disney and always looked forward to a trip to Orlando. He was a life long Rovers supporter and each week he would have his radio tuned in to keep up to date with his team. At home Sid loved to settle in his chair to catch up with the happenings on his favourite soaps Emmerdale and Coronation Street.
