Sheila Gibbons

Of your charity please pray for the Repose of the Soul of Sheila, who passed away on 26th October 2025 aged 84 years, Fortified by the Rites of Holy Mother Church and of Great Harwood.
The devoted wife of the late Dennis, loved mum of Jennifer, Stephen and Mark, dear mother-in-law of Ian, cherished grandma of Ellie, Eddie, Lizzie and Sofia and also a dear relative and friend to many.

Sheila, what a spark, what a storm, what a song.
A heart that burned brightly, all her life long.
She loved her Dennis, steady and dear,
Her truest companion, year after year.

The animals knew her, their keeper, their friend,
Her kindness and fussing would never quite end.
Her children, her brood, she drove them to tears,
Then pulled them in close through the laughter and years.

Hard work yes, she could test every soul,
But deep down, she meant it, she wanted things whole.
For under the sharp words, the stubborn and proud,
was love that spoke softly, though not always loud.

She’s gather her friends, then drive them away,
Only to ring them the very next day.
For friendship to Sheila was never quite neat,
It stumbled and tangled, but it was sweet.

Her house was her castle, her comfort, her pride,
Every cushion and corner with her spirit inside.
And her grandchildren, oh, how her eyes lit bright,
When they filled up her days and her heart felt right.

Now chatter is quieter, the laughter grown still,
But her warmth lingers softly, it always will.
For Sheila was Sheila, no copy no twin.
A life fully lived, with all heart within.
