Sheila Bullock
On 6th December 2023, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family, Sheila, aged 86 years of Clitheroe. the beloved wife of the late Brian, much loved and loving mum of Tony, Julie and Kathy, dear mother in law of Marianne, Mark and John, cherished nanna of Alexandra, Sophie, Thomas and Alice and great nanna of Elijah and Jude.
Sheila began her working life as a dinner lady and home help and then became a residential social worker, becoming an inspector. At Hillside, Sheila was a devoted to the people she cared for there, also making many friends, especially Maureen. On her retirement, Sheila opened a care home which her daughters ran. Sheila’s zest for life was beautifully reflected in her passion for travel, as she and Brian explored the four corners of the globe, visiting wonderful places such as Hawaii, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Alaska , the Caribbean, to name just a few of their destinations – they were a travel agents dream . They also adored their cruises and Sheila had the most wonderful experience when the captain thought she was the mother of the actress Sandra Bullock, and dinner on the captain’s table was a regular event for the whole of the cruise. Sheila always looked so beautiful and glamorous – over the years, she greatly boosted the shares of M & S and was always a popular face in the store purchasing her outfits. She was a lovely lady, devoted to her family, always loving, ever caring and a constant presence. Her family was the centre of her world and Sheila simply loved the times she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, making so many happy memories. She is much loved and will be deeply missed.

How honoured I am to be mentioned in such a lovely tribute to such a wonderful lady. Mrs Sheila Bullock was the only person who I was able to truly see as my boss … she oozed charisma and class. Mrs Bullock guided my career with a loving and kind hand. To a young woman of 18 years starting caring for vulnerable older people I could not have had a better role model. She taught me the values of empathy and kindness …. I so hope I did her proud. It was not untilnI was in my 50’s that I felt able to address her by her first name … although we had always been friends … with an emotional closeness that holds no bounds. Our world has lost an angel …. I hope she is flying high with Brian … so sad for her family, especially Kathy who I think of as a chosen sister. Rest in eternally peace Sheils my word you so deserve it ..
