Memorial Book
Peacefully, and surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday 29th November 2025, Sally, aged 79 years, of Clayton le Moors, fell asleep. The devoted wife of Anthony, treasured mother of Mark and Tony, much loved mum in law to Pamela, adored gran to Amy, Sarah, Rose, Marc, Rachel and Christopher, and the best great granny to Chloe, Oliver, Ava and Jaxon.
Born and raised in Turfolodge, Belfast, Northern Ireland, Sally later made her home in Clayton le Moors, where she and Anthony built their loving family. Deeply committed to helping others, she was especially passionate about supporting those who came to England from Ireland in search of a home. A dedicated and hardworking woman, Sally worked as a housekeeper and took immense pride in running her own household with warmth, care and unwavering attention. Home was where her heart was, and her family meant everything to her.
Sally had a remarkable gift for friendship. She could talk to anyone, anywhere, and formed countless meaningful connections throughout her life. Her door was always open, the kettle always on, and no one ever left without feeling welcomed and cared for.
The arrival of grandchildren brought Sally immense joy. As they grew, her home became their second home filled with love, laughter and the comfort only a grandmother can give. In the summertime, Sally was affectionately known for handing out ice pops to all the children playing on the street, becoming everyone’s ‘grandma’ in the neighbourhood.
Sally loved her bingo, attending whenever she could. Whether she won or lost, she cherished the fun and companionship it brought. Family was at the centre of her world, and Christmas at Sally’s home became a cherished tradition enjoyed by all.
She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. family flowers only please, donations are being gratefully received on behalf of Alzheimers Society, a donation box will also be provided at the funeral.
