Memorial Book

Suddenly at his home on 16th September 2025, Rory aged 40 years of Padiham. The adored son of Carol and the late Duncan, loving dad of Harvey and Milo, loved brother of Leah and Alistair, step-son of Anne and a dearly loved uncle, relative and friend to many.

Rory was the life and soul of the party and he had an energy that would fill up the room as soon as he entered. A true people magnet, people were naturally drawn to him and he could chat away about anything to anyone, always keeping people entertained with his quick whit and amazing sense of humour. He spent his working life as a boiler engineer spending many years working for British Gas before embarking on a self employed career. He loved his work and made many good friends throughout his career. Cooking came naturally to Rory and he loved nothing more than spending time in his kitchen with his favourite tunes on singing away whilst creating his latest culinary masterpiece, which would always be posted on his social media account under the heading, ‘Only at Campbells’. He adored his two sons and he was so proud when he was able to take them to Disney and they also enjoyed an overnight trip to London. Rory also enjoyed many other wonderful holidays when he would share his time between relaxing in the warm sunshine with exploring and enjoying the local cultures.

Rory was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, he lived his life by his mantra ‘One Life, No Replay’ and he would want you all to do the same.

Family flowers only please. Donations can be made in Rory’s memory on behalf of Cancer Research UK.

  • Muzzy Polat says:

I am Rory’s colleague and close friend Mustafa Polat, he called me Muzzy and we called him our redboy. He was joking saying that “Ginger Lives Matter”. He loved his boys Harvey and Milo, at one time he brought Harvey to Newcastle and he was proud that Harvey worked hard and learnt how to remove fans from boilers fast. Rory was a very emotional and a clean hearted person, he cared about his children, mother, late father, sister and all other people around him. I am sure everyone who was lucky enough to get to know him will remember him with his smiles and naive thoughts. Rest in peace our Rory the redboy. Surely we will meet again one day.

  • Anne Campbell says:

From the age of about 9 or 10, I was your step mum
We went on many holidays, but every weekend, we would drive out into the countryside and discover amazing roads. We would play with the for-sale sign houses and dream of having a holiday home somewhere in the countryside. We would pick up your sister, and the three of you used to fight, so I decided to let Leah sit in the front seat and because she hadn’t seen her dad all week. We would listen to tracks like Simon and Garfunkel on the tape deck. I still love those memories.

We once went on the ferry across the lake Windermere. We told her we were going to France, so she wrote a postcard to her mum telling her this. 😂

We lived at Churchill’s some nights. Your dad was the head doorman. You used to sneak into the cellar and out the other side.

We had a party there when you were 13, and you invited the whole year. You were so popular with the kids that year. You were so talented that you went to college and did electrics. At the age of 18, you were picked out of about 4,000 young guys to be an boiler technician with British Gas. Only eight were picked, and you were one of them. You invented something for British Gas that saved them millions, and you wished you had patented it before handing your invention over. 🤷‍♀️

You gave us two beautiful grandsons, and we took them on a few holidays. One of which was Disneyland. 💖 Special memories.

You married the beautiful Bina. She was so good for you. 🫶 And she still worships you now.

I love you, Rory. Your last words were, “I love you.” You are with your dad now. Give him a kiss from me. Until we meet again.

    Anne
