Memorial Book
Peacefully in hospital surrounded by his loving family on 10th October 2025, Bob aged 73 years of Clayton-le-Moors. The devoted husband of the late Jacqueline, loving and loved dad of Louise and Leanne, dear father-in-law of Mark, cherished grandad of Callum, Cara – Louise and Millie J and great grandad of Leo – Jax.
Born and raised in Clayton, Bob spent his entire life in the town he loved. After finishing school, he began his career at English Electrics, where he served his time and became a highly skilled toolmaker. Bob took great pride in his work, forming many lasting friendships over the years, and continued working until the age of 70.
A quiet and humble gentleman, Bob preferred to keep himself to himself. He enjoyed a pint and cherished his family above all else, they were truly the centre of his world. Always kind and generous, Bob would have given his last penny to help someone in need.
In his younger years, he loved family holidays abroad, always travelling by coach as flying was never for him, he preferred to keep his feet firmly on the ground. Each year, he would treat his family to a short break in Blackpool to see the illuminations, a tradition they all looked forward to.
A lifelong Blackburn Rovers supporter, Bob’s relationship with football was one of both love and frustration. He also enjoyed a small flutter on the horses each week, spending time studying the form and choosing his runners, even if luck didn’t always go his way.
Bob was loved and cherished by his family and friends and will be sadly missed but remembered with warmth and love.
Family flowers only please, donations are being gratefully received in Bob’s memory on behalf of North West Air Ambulance & British Heart Foundation.

We hold you close in our thoughts at this sad time. We’re deeply sorry for your profound loss.

I have known Bob for over ten years ago when I joined the team at Etech Engineering and came to know him well. He often spoke of his family, with love and pride, and that was what drove him. He had a good sense of humour and enjoyed telling tales from his past that always had us laughing. His passing is very sad news, and Dawn and I just want to express our deepest sympathy to his whole family!
