Robert Barnes
Peacefully at home in Altham on the 22nd October, 2022 with his loving wife Jo, by his side, Robert, aged 69 years. A loving brother to Edmund, Judith and John Peter, loved ‘pops’ to David, Kerry and Richard, a cherished uncle and great uncle and a loved and valued friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Born into a farming family who lived in Haslingden, the family moved to Clayton-le-Moors before their final move to Altham, where Robert lived for the rest of his life. He was well known in Clayton-le-Moors and Altham, having been the local milkman for many years and had also been a stalwart of St James Church, Altham where he had served as a church warden for over 20 years. Robert’s passion was gardening but together with Jo ,they loved their many wonderful holidays, especially their trips to Australia.
Robert will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
