Rita Doreen Climo
Peacefully in her sleep on 1st December 2020 at the Hollies Nursing Home, Rita aged 88 years of Clayton-le-Moors. The devoted wife of the late Reginald, dear sister of Eileen, loved auntie of Peter and Paul and a dear great auntie and also a loved and respected friend to many.
Rita was born in Blackburn where she grew up and attended school locally. Her working life began in the local mills and factories as a capstan setter. Following the loss of her mother Rita joined her father helping run the family pub at The Whalley Range. It was here that she met Reg, love blossomed which led to a long and happy marriage. Together they embarked on a career as Landlord and Landlady of the Old England Forever in CLayton-le-Moors, becoming a well respected pillar of the local community. She was a member of All Saints Church and an active member of The Royal British Legion. Rita adored cats and she shared her home with many local strays which she lovingly cared for.
Flowers are welcome for Rita’s love of flowers.

Memories of a Lovely Lady many happy times spent in the Olde England forever
I had the pleasure of knowing Rita for many years, from the Old England and The Wellington, she would always make time for everybody, we would usually chat about football, and her love for Blackburn Rovers. Clayton le Moors has lost a wonderful lady. May Rita’s family take comfort in the love we all feel for her, and the fact that she is now reunited with the lovely Reg. God bless Rita, rest in eternal Peace X

You will be sadly missed Rita x I’ve known you since I was a little girl and every time I saw you you you would greet me with your lovely smile xx You always had time for everyone, including Abby. From being a baby, she would crawl round the Wellington Pub and come to see you in the corner playing cards or dominoes. May you rest in peace Rita and I hope you have found your Reg again xx Love from Maggie, Stu, Calum and Abby xx

Such sad news. I remember Rita (& Reg) from the Old England & Welly. I can’t remember seeing Rita without a smile or laughing. Such a caring, happy lady who would make anyone welcome. Great domino player too. Happy memories Rita x
