Rita Bernadette Clarkson

On 15th March 2023, peacefully in Spring Hill Care Home, Rita, aged 85 years of Accrington. Rita was the dearly beloved wife of the late George Clarkson, with whom she had seven children, three who predeceased her – Paul, Michael and Andrew. Rita was a much loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and a dear friend.

Rita lived a life dedicated to caring for others. She trained and became a State Registered Nurse at Accrington Victoria Hospital, before accepting posts at Blackburn Royal Infirmary and subsequently opening her own care home, Abbeydale in Whalley. Rita lived a good  Christian life and St. Anne’s Church in Accrington was the centre of her faith, where Rita found her solace and strength within the walls.
