Richard Cottar (Tiny)
Richard passed away peacefully on the 12th March 2023 at the Royal Preston Hospital, aged 81 years.
Loving Partner to Maggie, devoted dad to Kim, dear father-in-law to Matt, cherished grandad to Aidan, brother to Annie, Margaret, Danny, Colin and Bobby and a loyal friend to many.
Richard spent most of his working life as a joiner, he thoroughly loved working with wood from fixing things to making garden furniture and then in later life making wooden models. In the 70’s Richard became a well known face in Accrington when he worked as a doorman at the pop club, he was referred to as a gentle giant who would do anything for anyone. Richard had a large circle of friends, he loved to natter and would talk to anyone. Most of all Richard was a loving family man who had time and patience for everyone. He will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.
